Liberal Democrat candidate for Mayor of Bristol, Dr Jon Rogers intends to visit all 60 of Bristol’s GP surgeries on his bicycle over the coming weeks.
The retired family doctor will use the tour to meet residents across the city, to listen to their concerns and set out his vision for Bristol.
Jon will also be blogging about the tour on this website,
The tour will start on Friday at 9am with a visit to his old practice at Greenway Community Practice in Southmead.
Commenting, Jon Rogers said:
“As a doctor I helped people from across the city of all ages and backgrounds.
“I will approach being Mayor the same way I approached being a doctor – by listening to people and doing everything in my power to help them with their problems.
“That’s what people want from their doctor and it’s what people want from their Mayor too.
“I will be a Mayor for the whole city, not just certain areas or people. That’s why I want to meet as many people as possible over the coming weeks.
“What better way of doing that than by getting on my bike and coming to you?
“Everybody has a doctors’ surgery nearby and they are places where people are always welcome, so I thought it would be a good way to visit places that people can get to easily.”
