I am visiting every surgery in Bristol, seeing the local communities and meeting many residents and patients as part of my campaign to be Bristol's first elected Mayor. The election is on November 15th.
I am fitting these cycle visits around my normal working week, so my visit to Brooklea Health Centre was at lunchtime and on my way to the HTV studios on the Bath Road to record an interview about the downgrading of English GCSE results.
There are two practices working from the premises, Birchwood Medical Practice and Nightingale Valley practice. They seem to be the only practices with surgeries in this Neighbourhood Partnership area. I visited the Riverside Surgery in St Annes on "Day 2" of my #doctoronabike tour!.
My interview was with Cordelia Lynch, presenter on ITV News programme 'The West Country Tonight' 6pm on ITV1. I wrote to the Prime Minister requesting an urgent review of the downgrading of many English GCSE results. I have also submitted an epetition on the http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk website, but it hasn't yet been published. At time of writing, no other petitions have been launched on the subject either.
